Hey, Victoria Jackson of SNL fame has been in the news lately, so I hit her website! And I found this open letter in her blog!

Open Letter to Joy Behar and Others Who Speak Like Her:

I'm really tired of your hatred rants against Pres. Bush.  Have some respect for authority and for the people like me who voted for him.  I did not vote for Bill Clinton, but I would never use my SNL connection to publicly criticize him and I would never speak of another human being with such vitriol.  Pres. Bush did not start the war against America and he is doing a great job with the situation that was put upon him.  Also, we do not have a king.  Our system of government has checks and balances.  Instead of complaining, why don't you take a political history course and run for office and see what good you can do for the world. 

The tongue is a powerful little thing.  Use it for some good.

The emphasis is mine, so have you guessed what I’m going to quote from her blog next? Did you guess hypocritical vitriol used against another human being who has authority and who people voted for? You should have!

Whoever Obama's paying to help him appear to be a Christian, to win the Evangelical vote...is doing a terrible job.  He should ask me for a few pointers.  First of all, "obscure reference in Romans" is a dead give away that he's never cracked a Bible.  "Evangelicals" love Romans.  They have it practically memorized.  -"obscure reference in Zephaniah" might have been more appropriate.  And, Obama, when you say things like, "Sin is...being out of alignment with my values."  That is a blaring siren of Biblical ignorance.  The Bible says, "Sin is being out of alignment with God's values."  That's like the number one lesson in every book of the Bible.  You really need some help.  Your statements are New Age, relativist, & humanist.  Basically, they are textbook comments that go back to the first sin in the Garden of Eden, when the serpent lied and told Adam and Eve that they could be equal with God.  (Read the book "When the World Will Be As One")  "New Age" is the oldest false religion.  It is a lie. And as for your "church" or Rev. Wright,  Evangelicals think it's a sad cartoon.  Obama, call me.  I'll explain Christianity to you.

 

Maybe you'll get saved and start loving unborn babies.

I wonder if being hypocritically judgmental while being simultaneously self-aggrandizing is also a sign that one isn’t really a Christian. Hmm.

The Bible Lesson For Today

You see, what bothers me most, besides being a Communist, and a racist ... He pretends to be a Christian and he incriminates himself everytime he speaks about Christianity.  To lie about being a believer in Christ is very dangerous.  Lightning could strike him at any minute!  But seriously, he doesn't have a clue what the Bible says and yet he pretends to be a church- going Christian to win votes.  That is sooooo evil.

I wouldn't want to be Obama on Judgement Day, but I especially don't want him to be the leader of my country. 

Come On America!  Wake Up!  How stupid can you people be?!

I guess it's not just Joy Behar who doesn't have respect for the people who voted for someone. But the line that made it just the best blog post ever is the following:

I don’t want a political label, but Obama bears traits that resemble the anti- Christ and I’m scared to death that un- educated people will ignorantly vote him into office.

Apparently, we are to assume that there is no vitriol in that sentence, and yet she did edit that line out of her blog after receiving some nasty responses to it. (Perhaps because some of those "un- educated people" pointed out that she misspelled "uneducated.") Later in her blog, she wrote this:

I asked someone why people would be angry with my words.  Don't we have freedom of speech?  They replied that the "...has some traits that resemble the Antichrist" comment was the phrase most offensive to some people.  That word is not a curse word and wasn't meant to be rude or offensive.  It is simply a term in eschatology, and I was making an observation.

So let me understand this, calling a passage in Romans "obscure" exposes one as being not Christian, but saying that “Antichrist” isn’t an offensive term doesn’t? Seriously, is there anything worse that a Christian could call someone than the Antichrist? How can VJ be a Christian if she doesn’t think that calling someone the Antichrist is an insult? Is she a liar or a Satanist? I don’t mean liar or Satanist to be offensive. Those are simply terms, and I was making an observation, like calling someone a Communist, a racist, or a liar are just observations that aren’t rude or offensive. And how could anyone take “sooooo evil” as anything but a compliment?

VJ ends by writing:

You might notice that even though half ( 46% ) of our country does not agree with the worldview (a term coined by Chuck Colson I believe) of our current President Elect, we will conduct ourselves with respect and class.  We will not be screaming derogatory remarks or four letter words at our elected officials, like Joy Behar and Al Franken and many other liberals have been known to do.  We will be praying for him and his family.

No, she won’t scream derogatory remarks or four letter words like "liar" or “evil.” Why should she when she has a blog and can write them? But I have to wonder if VJ is going to pray to God with that mouth? If so, I guess we sooooo evil Communists, racists, liars, and publicans should thank her for protecting us from the lightning.
