David Archuleta is so damned adorable. I don’t want to squish his head off and hang it from my rearview mirror like Paula (who is sooooooo drunk again that I’m loving Idol like I used to!) I love David. Plus he seems to have such an innocence and sweetness about him that he reminds me Billy Batson. Sure, David’s squinting helps in that it reminds me of Capt. Marvel, but it’s more than that. His whole look and demeanor remind me of Billy.

BTW, I can’t watch this performance of Imagine without tearing up a bit. I was watching it the other day and actually thought, “It’s a shame that John Lennon couldn’t have heard this.” And that got me even more weepy. Silly, I know. Still, this kid sang the hell out of this song in a way that wasn’t one of those “look at me I’m singing a long, loud note!!!” moments that Idol and other talent search shows seem to eat up.
