And If the Singing Doesn't Pan Out, He Can Always Work at WHIZ Radio.

[this is good]
The thing about "Imagine", I think, is that you've either got to be a naive kid, seriously stoned, or clinically depressed to bring the song across with any degree of sincerity. That's David's secret weapon... he can run with the sentimental, over-the-top songs and make it believable.

But he's gonna be in deep trouble if they have a "rock night"... although ten bucks says that if they do, he's gonna pick "Walking On Sunshine".
I thought the same thing about rock night. So far, all his songs seem to have been socially conscious and sweet. Personally, I think Just Another Day in Paradise, which he sang last night, is a terrible song that barely gets above being a sermon. Still, he sang it well enough and seemed to have that kid-like

naiveté that works for it. Still, on rock night? I don't know. I figure if he doesn't pull off rock, he will at least have a fan base to save him.

He is so damn cute!

The interesting thing is gonna be watching what happens to the Hernandez kid. We've established that the Idol audience loves its neutered gay boys, and kinda likes its androgynous gay boys, even when they kinda suck... but is there room in the minds of twelve year old girls for a plain ol' dude who likes dudes?
Here's what I think:
If Lou Ferrigno had the power of regeneration, and he cut his arm off, and the arm was able to regenerate into a fully-grown replica of Lou Ferrigno, but the regrowing process took two weeks...
David Archuleta would be the result after one week.

This is not meant as an insult.
Oh, I think we all thought that, John. ; )
